Nina is doing physiotherapy and wearing a brace for her knee. Because she had stopped her physio for a while her doctor wanted to wait and see what, if any, difference the resumed physio and the new brace were making before evaluating her again.
She has been working at the Montreal Jamaica Association as their Coordinator of Services for almost 3 months now and is very happy to be receiving a pay cheque again.
She says that she will start looking for an apt when she can tell prospective landlords that she has been working steadily for at least 3 months.
She was instrumental in having me hired to teach a beginner course in French to single mothers – Nigerian refugees and other immigrant women in difficult circumstances – at the Jamaica Association. The students’ attendance so far is rather irregular but I’m enjoying teaching again. I’ve been feeling unmotivated for a while, after not having done much tutoring while Nicki needed me to pick up Sophie from school last year – but have now also placed my ad in the Montreal Community Contact newspaper again.
